Who needs an expensive Smartphone?

These days, most mobile phones, even those for under £20 on PAYG (Pay As You Go) can come with a comprehensive phone/address book, calendar, tasks, notes, MP3 player, web browser and even email! Hold on, we're talking about the application portfolio of a several hundred £ smartphone aren't we? No! Just what even the cheapest PAYG mobiles have as standard these days! And if that's not enough, many come with software (E.g. Nokia's PC Suite) to connect with a PC for sync with Outlook Calendar/Contacts.
Obviously you get what you pay for, so the the PIM (Personal Information Management) functionality of a cheap mobile isn't going to be as powerful as a smartphone costing a few hundred pounds but hey, most users own a smartphone device worth £300+ yet only use the features available on a cheap £30 PAYG mobile! Now there's food for thought.
